Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Split Again After Two Years of Marriage

 More than two years after their highly anticipated wedding, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have decided to part ways once again. Lopez filed for divorce on Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, as confirmed by court documents. A source close to Lopez revealed that the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement.

TMZ was the first to report the news of the divorce filing.

The couple, who have had a long and storied relationship, finally got married in July 2022 after rekindling their romance the year before. Lopez and Affleck were originally engaged in the early 2000s but broke up before making it to the altar, spending 17 years apart.

During that time, Lopez married singer Marc Anthony in 2004, with whom she shares two children. The marriage lasted until 2014. She was also engaged to New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez in 2019, but they broke up in 2021. In total, Lopez has been married four times.

Affleck, during that period, was married to actor Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018, and they have three children together.

Lopez and Affleck first met on the set of the movie "Gigli" in 2002, and by November of that year, they were engaged. However, in 2004, Lopez announced their split.

After Lopez and Rodriguez ended their relationship in 2021, Lopez was frequently seen with Affleck, sparking rumors that the two had rekindled their romance. In April 2022, Lopez announced that she and Affleck were engaged once again—20 years after their first proposal. They got married on July 16, 2022, obtaining a marriage license in Clark County, Nevada.

The couple tied the knot in Las Vegas, arriving at the chapel just before midnight. According to Lopez’s fan newsletter, the J Lo, they waited in line with four other couples before saying "I do."

"We did it," the newsletter reported. "Behind us, two men held hands and embraced each other. In front of us, a young couple who had driven three hours from Victorville on their daughter’s second birthday—all of us wanting the same thing—to be recognized as partners and to declare our love through the ancient and nearly universal symbol of marriage."

At the time, the pair expressed their joy, saying, "It was the best possible wedding we could have imagined. One we dreamed of long ago and one made real."

Unfortunately, it seems their dream was short-lived, as the couple now finds themselves going their separate ways once more.
