"The Next Big Thing" is a developing tropical storm in the Gulf of Mexico. Forecasts suggest that Tropical Storm Debby will likely form and move across the eastern Gulf this weekend. According to current projections, there will be no impact on our area or along the Alabama Gulf Coast. The forecast advisory indicates the system will make landfall near
or south of the Florida Big Bend Region and cross southeast Georgia on Monday. While the advisory shows a northward track, some global models suggest the system might slow down or even stall by mid to late next week. For now, we can expect a very dry and hot start to next week.
