A TikTok video has gone viral, amassing over 470,000 views. The video, shared by user unclerickyd1, was recorded in Virginia City during the Hot August Nights event.
In the video, a Black man is seen filming a group of people. He starts shouting, accusing them of making racist remarks towards him. He claims that one of the men told him there was a "hanging tree" down the street for "people like him," along with using a racial slur.
When they reach the sheriff, the man begins crying and explains what happened. A woman nearby expresses her sympathy, saying, "I'm so sorry this happened to you," and offers him a hug.
